BUT . . .
We've found it can be pretty hard to find that place!  With thousands of mission agencies and church organizations involved in mission activities, how can you find something that suits YOU?
 

We decided to DO something about it.
Early in 1998, we produced what is now the Mission Finder web site, for the purpose of providing assistance to committed Christians who want to find a suitable mission agency with which to work. In our own small way, we've "been there, done that."  We draw upon years of mission experience, a good data base, and our own network of relationships and contacts. Since then, we have helped - at no cost to them - tens of thousands of people find their place in mission projects, worldwide.

We are evangelical Christians. We are not affiliated with any church or mission organization, and unless noted otherwise, the organizations we list aren't either, to the best of our knowledge. (Click on "Statement of Faith" above).

We believe our wise and loving Lord has some suggestions of His own for your search!  We urge you to be in honest prayer during this process - and be willing to do what He says!  Read How to Find God's Will for my Life"

Get Some Training . . .

We also urge you to consider some mission-specific training.  For adults out of high school, there are short term schools that can help prepare you for the task.  Some last for a month or so, others for six months or more.  See some of our suggestions here.

Statement of Faith

Mission Finder subscribes to this statement from the National Association of Evangelicals:

"Founded on a common acceptance of the infallibility and plenary authority of Scripture we shelter without offense varieties of biblical understanding, as those of the Calvinist, Arminian, Wesleyan, Anabaptist and Charismatic traditions. Together we stand on God's revelation in Scripture of redemption alone in Jesus Christ the son of God, by grace through faith."

"We affirm that our diversities result from our human fallibility and that one day when we know as we are known we shall more adequately see the proper coalescence of all things in the unitary truth which is of God. Until then we work and witness together in acceptance of the inevitable differences that we shall experience in our personal desire to understand the revealed mysteries of God. We know that our God, in His good time, through the coming again of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory, will make all mysteries plain and show us all things."
